use apples for stuffing. They make the turkey more mosit. but the only thing is you throw the apples out after cooking the turkey. Then just make stove top stuffing for stuffing.
That sounds great to me, yum, and it gives me a new idea for this Thanksgiving. Thank you
Wow, your recipe sounds great. Try adding browned and drained sweet Italian sausage, pecans, dried apricots, dried cranberries, and dried peaches, and raisins, chopped parsley, shallots, onions, a can of drained water chestnuts for crunch, and a chopped and seeded jalapeno for spice.
Stove Top as the starter. Water chestnuts, celery, some corn, and small chunks of chicken breast. I make it wet, some onion, and NO GIBLETS. I can't believe anyone thinks the giblets are good in the stuffing. The cat won't even eat the giblets.
My best cornbread dressing recipe is on the back of the Quaker cornmeal package. It's cornmeal dressing and it is delicious. Aunt Jemima's cornbread dressing is GOOD too!
That sounds um umm good!

Try some mushrooms and nuts in it (suggestion)
Try putting some cut up apple pieces in it or small pieces of dried apricot. YUMMY
Oyster Stuffing for Turkey

Giblets from the turkey

1/2 cup Chopped celery

1/2 cup Chopped onion

1/4 cup Butter melted

6 cup Dry bread crumbs ( I like to mix half white bread %26amp; half cornbread)

1 tbl Chopped parsley

2T ground sage

3 cup mashed oysters %26amp; juice

1 tsp Poultry seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 x Eggs, beaten

Chicken broth

Cook celery, giblets %26amp; onion until tender, but not brown.

Chop giblets finely. (I give the liver to the dog)

Add crumbs and parsley to butter mixture. Mix throughly.

Drain oysters; reserve liquid. Add chicken broth to oyster liquid to make 1 3/4 cups. Add oysters, seasonings and eggs to crumb mixture; add enough liquid mixture to moisten.

YIELD: Stuffing for 10 to 12-pound turkey.
